Sraddha and Harmit

We’re eager to introduce you to Sraddha and Harmit’s big TN wedding, photographed by Phindy Studios. We have some great details from the bride so lets get to them!

From the bride: “Sraddha and Harmit’s wedding was a fusion filled day of friends, foods, cultures and traditions.  Harmit is Sikh Punjabi and Sraddha is Hindu Nepali and thus they represented both cultures and countries by having two ceremonial weddings on the morning of November 6, 2010.  The couple had all the elements of the traditional Sikh and Hindu wedding, but also included an extra flair by incorporating some cultural traditions such as the Punjabi Milni and the Nepali Sai Pata, among others.”

The couple was first married in a Sikh wedding ceremony, or Anand Karaj.

Sraddha and Harmit did a marvelous job of transforming the Downtown Nashville Sheraton into a space that could accommodate a Sikh wedding, Hindu wedding and an Indian reception. A key factor in maximizing your decor budget is to use the same stage framework for all three events, as this couple did. Working alongside Natasha Decor, they were able to design a structure that would work all day, with slight modifications for each event. Love this idea!

So with a quick outfit change and mandap setup, Sraddha and Harmit were on their way to their Nepali Hindu wedding!

Make it a point to speak with your photographer about optimal timing for your portraits. That’s the only way you will be able to get stunning sunset shots like the ones below!

This regal couple rolled out the red carpet for the family’s entrances and got the stage decor and lighting perfectly in sync!

From the bride: “The couple also wanted to infuse their fun-loving personality into their wedding and proceeded to by making their reception enjoyable for all.  Harmit and Sraddha personalized a rendition of the hit show “The Dating Game” and screened it to their unsuspecting and very amused guests prior to entering their reception.  Entering to a standing ovation of their acting debut, the couple followed with their first dance to Katy Perry’s Teenage Dreams.  The rest of the night was filled with loving speeches, amazing food, contagious laughter, tremendous energy and many many warm memories!”
