We're featuring the unbelievably beautiful wedding of Ty and Nadeem which took place in Calgary, Canada. The bride shared all of the details from their special day!
It took us almost 9-10 months to plan our wedding, as we wanted to incorporate both my Sri Lankan Buddhist culture and his Indian Ismaili culture. Most of my extended family lives in Sri Lanka, so we thought what better way to showcase my culture than to celebrate with a traditional destination ceremony in Sri Lanka. We incorporated many of Nadeem’s cultural wedding traditions in to the Calgary reception. This way our family and friends in both Canada and Sri Lanka were able to join us in our celebration of love and our new life together.
I wanted our wedding reception to be elegant, romantic and luxurious, but had not visualized the final end product until I met with the amazing Sheryl at Lynn Fletcher Weddings. We chose to proceed with neutral golds, ivories and white with lots of blush for a romantic pop of color. I also wanted lots of flowers !! We showcased the flowers with candles and bling, as my Allure wedding dress was full of Swarovski crystals.
This couple is absolutely beautiful. The beading on the bride's dress mixed with her dark red lipstick and flowing locks is a stunning combination! I particularly love the orchids dripping from the bride's wrist- so different! The couple also did a wonderful job with their reception decor. From the tall centerpieces, gold rose patterned tablecloths and the special dessert bar no detail was left out!
