Viral and Puja’s wedding in the Tuscan countryside was a dreamlike affair involving an absolutely stunning backdrop, amidst which the two found themselves in a flurry of three beautiful days. And unfailingly, every day brought with it a new surprise, be it a ritual, or a twist in the expected scheme of things- and the bride and groom, along with their families, embraced the surprises and made them their own!
The photography by D2 Photography conveys a lavish affair, yet manages to capture the intense moments of two beautiful souls caught in a whirlwind of emotions. Right from the playfulness at the haldi ceremony to the gloom at the bidai ceremony, to the intimate reception ceremony in the evening- the photographs are on point with what they communicate about the wedding’s various junctures. And we can’t forget the accurate portrayal of Hindu weddings and dancing- everyone forgets who they are and assume a new role of the dance floor!
What we especially love is the way Puja has been captured, in all her bridal elegance, without unnecessary filters and powdered poses- she really is a paragon of classy elegance!
Although the backdrop is complete in itself, we can’t help but feel a sense of pride at how well the flowers complement the Tuscan countryside! It’s as if a little bit of India is the cherry on the cake at this wedding!
We absolutely adore this photo of Puja, for it conveys her timeless gracefulness in a simple picture. The stunningly sharp features adorned with delicate pinks and traditional Hindu jewellery- Puja has won our hearts!
This photo captures our favourite part of the wedding- when the bride and groom, happily married now, let loose and have a little fun! Viral and Puja can’t seem to get enough of the joke- and they deserve their share of a hearty laugh!
It was a cherished time, seeing two souls living in London adopting practices from their Hindu culture so openly and finding the time to go through with each ritual with the utmost respect for their elders. It’s no wonder that Puja’s bidai ceremony was such a heartbreaking one for her family!
"We would never have imagined that the Indian wedding with its Hindu ceremony could be so fascinating. One of the really touching things was the respect that the young gave to the older people, a feeling that was given by glances and small gestures", said Donatella of D2 Photography.
