Wedding Ceremony with Hindu Priest and Unitarian Minister

Asha and Nikhil's interfaith wedding ceremony was conducted by both a Hindu pundit and a Unitarian minister. Recognizing that a white tent is traditionally used in both Jewish and Hindu weddings, the couple placed their own personal spin on this by having their guests seated along with them beneath the tent, bringing in a sense of intimacy.

From the bride: "The minister led the ceremony, using text that we had co-written.  Before she led our vows, the pundit lit a small “eternal fire” and led us through seven walking circles around the flame, another key ritual in both Hindu and Jewish weddings.  The minister then instructed us to exchange rings as well as promises of eternal devotion, which we happily did.  The ceremony ended with a blissful kiss, Nikhil breaking a glass to be treasured, and the minister calling upon all of creation to sing for us."

We'll be back with the finale of the wedding of these two Stanford alums in just a bit!
