Fairmont San Jose Hotel Indian Wedding Reception

In my book, any reception that begins with the couple entering to Imran Khan's song, "Amplifier" is going to be a blast. That song can get everyone's heads bobbing, from the 3 year olds to the 63 year olds! Follow that with a choreographed dance by the bride and groom and you know you'll have the attention of every guest in the room.

If I could go back and repeat my wedding day, there is no doubt that I would choose a portrait location in the middle of a busy downtown. I can't imagine anything more fun than twirling around in a gorgeous lehnga in the middle of the street! Luckily, Shikha got this opportunity and completely rocked it!

The couple's reception ambiance can best be described as understated elegance. Every detail was thought out without being over-the-top, allowing the bride and groom to be in the spotlight. The ballroom of the Fairmont San Jose was staged to accommodate rectangular and circular tables in a formation that completely transformed the space, while three types of centerpieces from Ajooba Events lit up the room. My favorite element (and Shikha's too) was opting for 3 white sofas around the dance floor for themselves and their parents instead of the typical stage setup. The couple was right in assuming that they wouldn't be on stage most of the night anyway as they watched performances and speeches, so why not plan around that. Love the idea as your stage can still show off your beautiful cake while you're right in on the action as your friends and family celebrate your love.

From the bride: "We had a blast planning the wedding. My husband was very involved. The big decisions were easy but the details were where we butted heads. I would tell all future brides to have fun with the wedding process but not to get too caught up with it. Before our wedding, someone very wise said that three major things would probably go wrong but you just get past it and enjoy your day. Things did go wrong but we were the only ones who noticed, and honestly it didn't matter to us. My husband always reminded me that we wanted to plan a great wedding, but even more we wanted an awesome marriage."

I'm so sad to see this beautiful wedding feature end! Another successful wedding over, and another two beautiful families joined together.
