Daytime Outdoor Indian Wedding Reception

In a sea of ballroom weddings, it is so refreshing to come across one that goes against the grain and stands out with its own style and personality. Deepika transformed her alma mater, Scripps College, into the perfect venue for her charming Indian wedding. A large white tent was adorned with yellow curtains hand made by her mother and Masi, and accented by strings of bright orange marigolds. A bird cage chandelier hung over round tables decorated with tall centerpieces filled with lemons and limes, as well as colorful flowers in terra cotta pots.
Instead of the traditional bridesmaids in the wedding party, our bride chose to include
bridesmen dressed in grey suits and purple ties. A wonderful idea we hope to see more often!
All of the creative elements came together to create a wedding that should be included in the pages of
Style Me Pretty. If you're worried about throwing a cookie cutter bash, take notes from this thoughtfully planned reception that I'm sure Deepika and Vishal's guests won't be forgetting anytime soon!

From the bride:
"We entered the tent to our favorite song 'Aaj Din Chadheya' by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. From then on it was a party. Familiar smiling faces all around, eating, drinking, taking pictures, dancing, laughing and who can forget all the pretty ladies with the yellow and orange gerber daisies in their hair."Thank you, Deepika, for letting us share your one-of-a-kind wedding on
IndianWeddingSite.com. I'm sure it will inspire many brides-to-be!
